Noise from rear

I have a V50 2.0D SE 05 Plate that has now done 42,000 miles. A constant noise has appeared towards the rear at low and high speeds, I think it may be rear bearings but can it be on such a low mileage? Has anybody had or heard of a similar problem.

Yes have replaced rear wheel bearings on these at relatively low mileages. Paul.

Could be just the tyres drumming a bit. I had the same thought as you at roughly the same mileage - replaced the rear tyres early (possibly could have got another 5k out of them) and the car wa all quiet again. It's amazing how you don't really notice tyre noise levels getting higher as they wear until you listen for it. I also had a vibration at the rear which disappeared with the new boots (which balancing did not previously solve)
