battery dying!

MessageAuthor

Are the indicators cutting out sometimes, classic top fuse symptoms. Also check all the earths. The dynamo should be perfectly capable of running the electrics.

If you think that the dynamo is not charging then put a multimeter across the battery. With the engine off it should show 12V (give or take a quarter of a volt). With the engine running at about 1500rpm it should show about 14V (no lights on, no wipers, no heater fan). If it is much less than that then the dynamo (or regulator or wiring) is faulty.

A slightly loose connection on the ign switch caused my red light to come on more than it ought. But defnitely do the output test as above before anything else.
