850 glovebox stuck

aint it funny i most proberly go in the glovebox every 6 months or so and now its not working it's like the end of the world and a must to get in there, this is the second time now it's broke and because i had a spare the first time it was "get it open no matter what", i have to be more careful this time as i have no spare, has anyone opened one without the drilling method, dont fancy a hole no matter how big or small it is or just rip it off (so to speak) and get a spare thanks for your time,cam.

One way is to wedge the thing open as far as you can (protect the edges of the lid and fasia) then cut through the wire fixed part of the latch with a pad saw or hacksaw blade. Replace the wire latch and the broken bits in the lid.

as above.. i got it off this site how to do it.. i drill ed the bit that was snapped and put a little scre in it and dremmeled (sp) the screw till it was smooth and it works a treat....

I should think it's the one at the bottom of this link: Seems strange to mix metric and imperial sizes for one item. However tyres are sized with metric width and imperial diameter!
